Another roundup of how our academy youngsters are getting on for their respective loan clubs

Another week has passed so that means it is time to check in and see how the academy boys are getting on during their loan spells.

Jack Lorentzen-Jones

After receiving Hemel Hempstead’s player of the month award for January, Jack Lorentzen-Jones continued to start for The Tudors as they fell to a 2-1 defeat to Dover Athletic and a 2-2 draw with Ebbsfleet United.

Josh Phillips and Charlie Trustram

Josh Phillips got another appearance for Bedford Town as he came off the bench in their 2-1 defeat to Macclesfield Town. A few days later, Josh played the full 90 minutes as The Eagles this time drew 2-2 with Curzon Ashton.

In the same game, Phillips’ fellow Luton loanee Charlie Trustram came off the bench for his senior debut.

Tate Xavier-Jones

Tate Xavier-Jones managed 90 minutes, but his Merthyr Town side went down 3-1 to Darlington.

Jamie Odegah

Jamie started once again for Chelmsford, but they were beaten 5-0 by Slough Town.

Oli Lynch

Elsewhere in the FA Trophy, Oli Lynch made another appearance for Tamworth, but they drew 0-0 with Marine before losing 4-1 on penalties to be knocked out of the trophy.

Henry Blackledge

Henry Blackledge started two games in the space on four days, but Gosport Borough lost 2-0 to both Hungerford Town and Gloucester City.

Senior loan watch

In terms of the senior players that are out on loan, Joe Gbode made his debut for National League side Woking, and he scored a brace as they defeated Walton and Hersham in the FA Trophy. Then, a few days later Gbode scored his first league goal, but the Cardinals went down 4-2 to Forest Green Rovers.

Millenic Alli registered his first goal and assist in a Portsmouth shirt as they beat West Brom 3-0 at Fratton Park.

Jerry Yates made his debut for Sheffield Wednesday against Wrexham and then started three days later in the Owls’ defeat to Blackburn Rovers.

After scoring his third league goal for Wycombe against Wigan Athletic on the 27th of January, Cauley Woodrow started for the seventh successive game as the Chairboys drew 0-0 with Mansfield Town.

Christ Makosso made his debut for Oxford but the U’s lost 3-1 to Sheffield United.

Zack Nelson made another substitute appearance for AFC Wimbledon in their defeat to Bolton Wanderers whilst Ethon Archer started once more as Port Vale beat Leyton Orient. A few days later, both Nelson and Archer started as Port Vale and Wimbledon collided at Vale Park where the Dons came out victorious.
