Midfielder is jogging and "slightly ahead of schedule"

Hatters boss Nathan Jones gave a hugely positive update on Cameron McGeehan’s progress in his rehabilitation from a broken leg at his Ely Way Press conference today – but insisted the 11-goal midfielder would not be rushed back into the team this season.

The 21-year-old remains Town’s second-top scorer this term having reached 11 during home win over Barnet on New Year’s Eve, just two days before disaster struck at Portsmouth in the opening game of 2017.

McGeehan posted a video on social media earlier this week of himself jogging on an anti-gravity treadmill, and Jones said: “He’s coming on very well. He’s ahead of schedule but he’s on what they call an Alter G machine now, which is a running machine that takes part of your body weight.
