Autism Bedfordshire
Feeling different is a lonely experience for people with autism. They describe being on the outside of a world that everyone else seems to understand. Fears and anxieties dominate their lives but they can’t explain to anyone how they feel. To calm themselves, they may display odd or challenging behaviours which evoke disapproving reactions from the public. The inevitable result is social isolation.
Autism Bedfordshire has enriched the lives of people with autism and their families in Luton and Bedfordshire for over 25 years. The support from Luton Town FC fans will provide much needed funds to continue our services.
Families United Network (FUN) is a charity that supports children and young people with additional needs and disabilities from across Luton. Our specially adapted activity centre offers clubs and activities where disabled children and their families can feel accepted for who they are.
We provide activity clubs during all school holidays, weekly youth clubs, Saturday clubs, swimming sessions and other trips and outings.
FUN believes that disabled children should have the same leisure opportunities available to them that their non-disabled peers enjoy. By providing a supportive and accepting environment, the children are better able to make friends and learn together.
The NSPCC
The NSPCC is the only children’s charity fighting to end child abuse in the UK. We are already delivering safeguarding programmes in Luton and Bedfordshire primary schools and taking Childline calls from Bedfordshire children.
Together with Luton Town FC Supporters we can reach out further to ensure all Luton and Bedfordshire children understand they have a voice, that Childine is there for them, will listen to them and they will be believed. In 2015, 1111 landline calls were made to Childline from Luton Postcodes alone. Please help us be there for the next generation of your children too.
CLIC Sargent
“Imagine hearing the words: 'your child has cancer.' How would you feel? What would your future look like? Every day this becomes a reality for 10 families in the UK.
CLIC Sargent is the safety pin that holds the family together after their lives have been torn apart by a cancer diagnosis. In 2015/16, we supported 49 children and young people, and their families, within Bedfordshire, through our free UK wide services including people, places & practical things.
Currently we can only provide support to 2 out of 3 children and young people with cancer. Help us to achieve our goal of reaching and supporting every child and young person.
Luton Foodbank
Sarah knows what it feels like to go to bed on an empty stomach. Like many parents in Luton, she has to cut back on her own meals to make sure that her children are fed. It’s heart-breaking to know that people in our town are suffering in silence. Last year, Luton Foodbank provided over 6,000 emergency food parcels to families like Sarah’s. Luton Foodbank aims to eliminate hunger in the town by providing emergency food packs to help people in need. Your support is vital to our work. Nobody, in our town should go hungry, especially families at our doorsteps.
