Nathan Jones makes five changes from FA Cup exit

Hatters boss Nathan Jones has named his team for this afternoon’s Sky Bet League Two fixture at Crewe Alexandra with five changes from last Saturday’s FA Cup defeat at Accrington.

There are starts also for five of the players who kicked off the midweek Checkatrade Trophy win over Chesterfield.

Those included who didn’t start at Accrington a week ago are Pelly-Ruddock Mpanzu, Jordan Cook, Jack Marriott and top scorer Danny Hylton, while Lawson D’Ath makes his debut just over a week since signing from Northampton Town.

And even though the Town met the Checkatrade Trophy ‘full-strength team’ requirement on Tuesday with five of the top 11 starters in league and cup competitions in the line-up against Chesterfield, Jones has made doubly sure today.

Goalkeeper Christian Walton, midfielders Jake Gray, Cook, Mpanzu and striker Marriott all started Tuesday’s magnificent 4-0 victory over the League One Spireites.

TOWN: Walton, Justin, Cuthbert ©, Mullins, Sheehan, Mpanzu, Gray, D’Ath, Cook, Hylton, Marriott. Subs: O’Donnell, Smith, Mackail-Smith, Lee, Vassell, Senior, King (GK)
