A Czech Republic international – winning one cap in 2014 – the 28-year-old joined the Hatters in June 2017 from Sparta Prague.

He started his career in his home country as a schoolboy with Sparta, before joining West Ham United at 16 and gaining experience on loan with clubs including Wycombe Wanderers and Yeovil Town.

The 6ft 5ins stopper earned cult hero status in Somerset after signing permanently in 2012, helping the Glovers to promotion to the Championship for the first time in the club's history before leaving following their immediate relegation in the summer of 2014 to play in the Europa League with Sparta.

Stech was an instant hit in his first season with the Hatters, saving two penalties in his first month at the club and going onto keep 15 clean sheets in 38 league games as Town won promotion to League One.

He also has 12 Under-21 caps to his name. Named in the PFA Sky Bet League Two Team of the Season for 2017/18.
