First Team Staff

Nathan Jones (Manager)

Welshman Jones was appointed as John Still's successor in January 2016. A former coach and assistant-manager at Brighton & Hove Albion, Charlton Athletic and Yeovil Town, he was a player at Kenilworth Road in 1995 but left without making an appearance. Jones spent a year in Spain before returning to the UK and playing for Southend, Brighton and Yeovil, making over 500 appearances. The 44-year-old began his coaching qualifications while still a player with Yeovil, initially coaching the Ladies team, and achieved his UEFA Pro-Licence in 2014. In March 2016 Jones signed a new three-and-a-half year contract with the Hatters to tie him to the club until 2020. His first full season in the hot-seat ended with a fourth-placed finish and qualification for the League Two play-offs.

Paul Hart (Assistant-Manager)

The vastly experienced Hart played at the highest level as a defender for Leeds United, Nottingham Forest and Sheffield Wednesday, among other clubs, before moving into management with Chesterfield in 1988. He has since bossed Forest, Barnsley, Rushden & Diamonds, Portsmouth, Queens Park Rangers and Swindon, as well as working with great success at development level at several clubs, including Leeds and Charlton, where he first worked with Nathan Jones in 2012-13. Named Hatters number two in May 2016.

Joaquin Gomez (First-Team Coach)

The 30-year-old Spaniard was one of the youngest men in his home country to gain his UEFA Pro Licence coaching qualification, and was assistant-manager at fifth-tier club C.P. Parla Escuela before moving to England at the age of 24. Over five years he worked his way up through Brighton & Hove Albion’s academy to coach the first-team alongside Hatters boss Nathan Jones. He left the Seagulls in 2015 to become head of tactical analysis at Derby County, from where he joined the Town in July 2016.

Kevin Dearden (Goalkeeper coach)

Luton-born former Tottenham, Brentford and Torquay goalkeeper Dearden joined the Town's coaching staff in December 2014. After hanging up his gloves, he took over the goalkeeper coach position at Leyton Orient in 2008 before leaving to join the Town under former manager John Still. The 47-year-old has continued his excellent work with some top young keepers since Nathan Jones' arrival, helping develop our own Craig King as well as loanees including England U21 goalie Christian Walton.

Jared Roberts-Smith (Head of Sports Science)

Joined the Town in the summer of 2016 after leaving the same role at Charlton, where he had worked since 2011. Worked with Nathan Jones and Paul Hart as part of the Addicks' hugely successful Under-21 side's staff during the 2012-13 campaign.

Mick Harford (Chief Recruitment Officer)

Luton Town legend who returned to Kenilworth Road in January 2016, soon after Nathan Jones' appointment as manager, to head up the recruitment side of the club. First joined the Hatters as a player in 1984 and spent six years leading the line in the old First Division, before returning in 1991-92 for a second spell. At the end of his playing career the ex-England international returned as coach, then director of football and finally manager, winning the Johnstone's Paint Trophy in 2009.

Simon Parsell (Physio)

Experienced physio who joined the Town in 2010. Previously held the same position at Rushden & Diamonds.

Darren Cook (Masseur/Kitman)

Originally employed by the Town as a masseur, Hatters fan Cook took up the role of kit man in 2010.

Peter Booker (Performance Analyst)

Joined the Town in June 2013 and is an important member of the team analysing matches involving both the Hatters and upcoming opponents.
