Matty Pearson joined from Barnsley in 2018 and brought a wealth of experience with him, having already made over 250 career appearances upon arrival at Kenilworth Road.

The Yorkshireman began his career at Blackburn Rovers, progressing through the youth ranks there before leaving for Rochdale.

That was followed by a move to Halifax Town in 2013, where he stayed for two seasons, before his impressive performances at The Shay saw Accrington Stanley move in for his services.

A two-year spell at the Wham Stadium – in which he netted 12 goals – led to him signing for the Tykes in the summer of 2017.

Signed a three-year deal with the Hatters, netting six times in 46 league games as the Town won League One, quickly becoming a crowd favourite.

Pearson missed just four games during the 2019/20 season and scored twice in the Championship.

He recorded his 100th Hatters appearance in the 2-0 win against Wycombe Wanderers in October 2020.
