International call-ups | Mengi named in England Under-21 squad

Teden Mengi’s impressive performances at the heart of the Town defence have been rewarded with a call-up to the England Under-21 squad.

The former Manchester United defender has already represented the Three Lions at under-15, 16, 17, 18 and 20 level.

Mengi will join up with the England squad for their Euro Under-21 qualifiers against at Azerbaijan and Luxembourg.

Meanwhile January signing Daiki Hashioka has been called-up to the Japan squad to face DPR Korea twice in two World Cup qualifiers.

Goalkeeper Thomas Kaminski goes out on duty with Belgium hoping to earn his first cap as the Belgians face Ireland and England in friendlies.

The stopper could face teammate Chiedozie Ogbene with the winger named in the Republic of Ireland squad to face Belgium and England.

Gabriel Osho earned his first international call-up for Nigeria but the centre-half’s injury unfortunately means he will not feature in the Super Eagles’ friendlies against Ghana and Mali.

On-loan defender Issa Kaboré will join up with the Burkina Faso squad to take on Libya and Niger for two friendlies in Casablanca.

And finally youth team midfielder Dylan Stitt has been named in the Northern Ireland under-17 squad to play in the under-17 Championship Elite round qualifiers against England, France and Hungary.
