Striker Elijah Adebayo will be unavailable for the Town at Liverpool on Wednesday after picking up a hamstring injury in the warm-up prior to Sunday’s game with Manchester United.

The leading scorer is being assessed by the Town’s medical staff but will not feature at Anfield.

Fellow attacker Jacob Brown will also not head the Merseyside after Edwards revealed the former Stoke man had an operation on a knee cartilage issue on Tuesday morning. The boss said that Brown is likely to be on the sidelines for the foreseeable.

"We're still not sure how bad it is, said the boss on Adebayo. "He will see someone later this afternoon.

"I hope it's not weeks, hopefully it's days. I wouldn't like to put a timescale on it now because sometimes hamstrings can play up a little bit.

"Cauley is ready to go again if he's selected. I was pleased with him the other day, It was a big moment for him to come in late and play well. We've got some good options even though we're missing key players. Whoever we put in we are confident they will do well.

"Jacob Brown won't be an option. He's had an operation with the cartilage in his knee."

The duo join Marvelous Nakamba, Mads Andersen and Tom Lockyer on the sidelines.
