The Town will be without Amari’i Bell for Saturday’s televised Premier League game with Tottenham Hotspur at Kenilworth Road.

The Jamaican international injured his hamstring in Tuesday’s game with Burnley and was substituted in the first half.

Manager Rob Edwards explained the defender will be assessed on Friday to see the extent of the injury.

The boss, did, however, explain that midfielder Ross Barkley is set to feature in the squad having trained fully.

“He’s fit, he’s been training, he’s part of the squad and it’s good to have him back on the grass,” said Edwards.

Another player who has been training has been Andros Townsend. The 32-year-old has been at The Brache for the past week and will play in Friday night’s under-21 Premier League Cup game against Leeds.

“We’re having a look at him, and he’s having a look at us,” explained Edwards. “He’s had a fantastic career, he’s hungry, but [a deal] has to be right for both parties.”

Asked at his pre-match press conference on how his side must bounce back against Spurs after losing against Burnley in the week, the manager said: “If we don’t pick ourselves up for this game we’re in the trouble.

“When you get knocked down, you’ve got to get up. We’re looking for a positive reaction and we’re looking forward to it.”

On the test against Ange Postecoglou's unbeaten Spurs, the manager joked: “We’re playing a flat nine with Carlton upfront.

“No, but of course they have world class players, household names, players who our fans have watched on the TV for a long time.

“We hope our fans find their voices and that we give them a performance to sing about.

“We will give them the full Kenny experience.”
