Town to wait on Lockyer and Mengi fitness

Town boss Rob Edwards will give every chance to defenders Tom Lockyer and Teden Mengi as the pair race to be fit for Tuesday’s televised Premier League clash with leaders Arsenal.

Both were withdrawn during Saturday’s 3-1 defeat at Brentford and Edwards said at his pre-match press conference on Monday that a decision will be made tomorrow on their fitness.

The boss admitted that former Manchester United man Mengi's injury is not as serious as first thought.

Alfie Doughty is close to a return according to Edwards after the wing-back missed the game at the Gtech Community Stadium with a hip injury.

The Town are, however, likely to be without midfielder Marvelous Nakamba who is not expected to feature against the Gunners.

Edwards confirmed Sambi Lokonga is now fit but the midfielder is ineligible to feature against his parent club.
