Luton Town's pre-season programme has been confirmed ahead of the 2022-23 Sky Bet Championship season:
- First friendly will be at Hitchin Town on Friday 1st July
- Slovenia training camp before Cobblers and Posh trips
- West Ham to visit Kenilworth Road on Saturday 23rd
The Hatters will kick-off their 2022-23 pre-season campaign with a visit to Non-League neighbours Hitchin Town on Friday 1st July.
Kick-off will be 7pm at Top Field, home to Mark Burke’s Southern League Premier Division Central outfit and a ground that regularly plays host to the Town development squad’s fixtures.
Carlos Mendes Gomes, pictured above, netted on his first appearance in a Town shirt to round off a 7-0 victory on last year's visit to the Hertfordshire club.
Tickets will be available online only from Friday 17th June via the Canaries’ website.
The following day Nathan Jones’ squad fly out to a week-long training camp in Slovenia, where they will play a game against opposition still to be confirmed, before heading home to continue preparations at The Brache.
The next friendly on home soil will be a trip to face Northampton Town, beaten semi-finalists in the League Two play-offs, on Saturday 16th July. Kick-off at Sixfields will be 1pm.
Three days later Town head to familiar territory, with Peterborough United – relegated from the Championship soon after a 1-1 draw with the Hatters in April – playing host at the Weston Homes Stadium on Tuesday 19th July, kick-off 7.45pm.
The final friendly sees Europa League semi-finalists West Ham United visit Kenilworth Road on Saturday 23rd July for a 3pm kick-off, a week before the Championship season starts.
David Moyes’ men were narrowly beaten by Eintracht Frankfurt in Europe’s second tier competition, having beaten Sevilla and Lyon en route to the last four, but they ended the season by qualifying for the Europa Conference League with a seventh-place finish in the Premier League.
Ticket details for this fixture, and the visits to Northampton and Peterborough, will be released on the club website and social media channels in the coming weeks.
