The Hatters maintained their unbeaten record in pre-season as they held Premier League side West Ham United to a draw at Kenilworth Road.

In the final test before the start of the league campaign next week, Sonny Bradley's late leveller cancelled out Tomas Soucek's first-half header.

On a warm afternoon at Kenilworth Road, the Hatters made an encouraging start to proceedings wearing the brand-new Umbro 2022/23 home shirt for the first time.

Whilst West Ham enjoyed the majority of possession, Nathan Jones’ side pressed high looking to force the pressure on the Premier League, which was almost managed successfully early on.

Elijah Adebayo skipped away from Ben Johnson and moved the ball out-wide to Luke Berry who’s crossed look destined for Harry Cornick but for Aaron Cresswell’s interception.

With one chance however, the away side showed their clinical edge as Soucek opened the scoring with a flicked header that left Ethan Horvath rooted.

Aside from the goal, chances were few and far between but the Hatters had Horvath to thank the game wasn’t out of sight early in the second period.

The USA international first made a strong low stop to deny Nikola Vlasic, before outdoing himself with a fine one-on-one save from Michail Antonio.

Moments after Allan Campbell dragged a shot just wide of the target, summer additions Cauley Woodrow and Carlton Morris were introduced on the hour mark.

There was little goalmouth action until the very end, when substitute Dion Pereira combined with James Bree to take a short corner, and with the help of Dan Potts' flick-on, Bradley was able to bundle the ball home from close range.
