Luton Town Football Club is delighted to announce a brand-new partnership with Her Game Too, a voluntary organisation which aims to raise awareness on sexist abuse within the realms of football.

We are joining a number of other clubs from the EFL and beyond to show our commitment to the cause, helping to create further awareness around the problems females can face both on matchdays and online away from fixtures.

To help launch this exciting new partnership, the players will show their support by wearing Her Game Too branded t-shirts in the warm-up before our game against Preston North End, during which members of Luton Town Ladies Under-18s will act as ball collectors.

Her Game Too was founded by 12 passionate female football fans in May 2021 with a special launch video uploaded to social media.

The individuals involved with Her Game Too are helping to build a more welcoming environment for young girls and females at stadiums, championing women who play football, work in football and support football, whilst also continuing to campaign against the online abuse women suffer and sexism attached to the game, to ensure women are respected equally and can feel safe doing something they love.

With the support of the Hatters and other clubs, the non-profit organisation is aiming to create further awareness, carry out research, educate the next generation, offer support for reporting systems in place at clubs, develop a strong sense of community and create strong relationships with other relevant partners, among much more.

Luton Town Senior Commercial & Hospitality Executive Viv Long, the Hatters’ Her Game Too club ambassador, said: “As a football fan from a young age and someone who now works within football, I am delighted that Luton Town have joined with Her Game Too.

"I’m really looking forward to helping the Club work alongside our Her Game Too Ambassadors, fans, staff and players to really promote equality and raise awareness on sexism, whilst also empowering women in football and helping to make everyone’s football experience as safe and enjoyable as possible.

"I hope that by the Club being a part of this initiative, it will help to open the doors for anyone who is interested in football to come forward and attend games and enjoy the matchday buzz, joining the real life and online community which comes with being a Hatter.”

Her Game Too founder Caz May added: "It's important that we have the backing of professional football clubs to help us raise awareness of sexism against women in football, so we are delighted to have the support from Luton Town. Football fans of all backgrounds need to feel at home when attending matches, so we are looking forward to working with the club to ensure football is a diverse and welcoming environment for all."
