Participants on the Luton Town Community Trust’s Fit Hatters programme had a special visitor to their session at Kenilworth Road last night, with Town top scorer Elijah Adebayo dropping in to offer encouragement and a few fitness tips.
The 24-year-old striker spent almost 90 minutes speaking to the group, and each individual as he walked around the circuit training stations set up around the pitch, as he helped showcase the Trust’s fine work in the local area as part of the EFL Week of Action.
Elijah took time to pose for pictures, record video messages and sign autographs as the group, all Luton Town supporters, took their opportunity to get close to one of their heroes.
The Fit Hatters programme is a behaviour and lifestyle change programme focused at both male and female participants aged from 35 to 65 years old, where the participants are required to have a specific weight, waistline and BMI.
It is a 12-week theory and practical based programme, and once the 12-week theory programme is completed, the Trust then look at 12 weeks of maintenance with the groups, with sessions involving walking football, circuit training and other activities.
The BBC Look East cameras were also present lasy, so look out for footage of a special evening in the coming days, as well as on the club social media channels.
