The day after winning LTST Player of the Season and Bobbers Travel Away Player of the Season, the 28-year-old received confirmation that he would take part in the competition which starts on Friday 11th June.

Sluga was an unused substitute in their warm-up match against Armenia this evening but will hope to be involved in group stage matches versus England, Scotland and Czech Republic.

When previously speaking to Sluga, (which you can find here) the goalkeeper spoke of his desire to be involved and how a call-up would make him the 'happiest person ever'.

"If I have the opportunity to be there, for me it is one of my dreams as a child when I was watching all the games on TV, the national team of Croatia. It is something different, it gives you a different feeling, it gives you a proud feeling in your body and in your mind.

"You weren’t aware of that feeling before because I don’t know what situation can give you this feeling that I’m talking about. I’m really happy, I’m really, really proud and it is something for me to wait for the official squad list but if I am in it, I’m going to be the happiest person ever! We will see what happens, the opening game is against England at Wembley which is going to be a massive game where anything can happen."

Now that confirmation is official, all at Kenilworth Road would like to congratulate Simon Sluga on his terrific achievement as he makes it three Hatters who are now heading to the tournament, alongside Joe Morrell and Tom Lockyer!
