The Luton Town Supporters’ Trust have generously decided to purchase 10 Diamond season tickets, meaning a donation of £5,200 to the Football Club.
Coronavirus has thrown the football world into uncertainty, and the Trust were quick to recognise that, swiftly setting about how they could go about helping out financially in these uncertain times, eventually settling on the purchase of the virtual season tickets.
In keeping with the changing world in light of Covid-19, the donation was made virtually, with Trust chairman Tony Murray presenting a cheque to LTFC chairman David Wilkinson via a Zoom call which can be seen below.
Tony, who was joined by LTST board members Kevin Harper and Maryan Broadbent on the call, said: "We are well aware of the impact that the coronavirus has had not just on the football world, but the business landscape globally, and we wanted to do our bit to help out.
“After discussions between our board, we came to the decision to purchase 10 virtual Diamond season tickets, which means that on behalf of our members across the world, we are donating £5,200 to assist 2020 in whatever way it can.”
The offer from LTST was warmly received by David Wilkinson, on behalf of the club.
He said: “This is an overwhelmingly generous donation from the Trust, one which we are very grateful for. It is actually quite moving. This donation will help us in many ways, not just financially, but to further highlight the affection in which the Football Club is regarded from our fans. On behalf of the entire board, we thank you very very much.”
This kind donation from the Trust continues a long line of supporter help, with almost 4,000 season ticket holders having renewed for next season already.
We once again thank everyone who has helped out, either through generous donations, renewing season tickets or the purchasing of merchandise of some description, particularly in light of the difficult time for all.
The generosity of Hatters fans continues to amaze and is appreciated all at Luton Town Football Club. Thank you.
