The Hatters are back in Sky Bet Championship action when they welcome Sheffield Wednesday to Kenilworth Road tonight.

After suffering a 1-0 defeat to Cardiff City on Saturday, Town will look to put things right against Garry Monk’s side as they bid to climb off the foot of the table.

The Owls are four games without a win but remain six points away from the play-off places.

Graeme Jones said:

(Please note, these quotes were taken from Graeme's press conference yesterday)

On Garry Monk: "Garry was our captain when we won the League One title at Swansea. Me and him have got a brilliant relationship, two men who are always straight with each other. We had one or two problems, fights in the dressing room!

"But we have remained incredibly close friends, he text me last night, I text him back. But Garry knows the game, he knows I want to beat him tomorrow, 100 per cent. But I am looking forward to seeing him, because he is somebody that I respect.

"He was a leader in our dressing room, and the whole world is looking for leaders. When nobody wanted to step up to the plate, Garry did it. He did it at Swansea, he did at Leeds, he did at Birmingham, he did it at Middlesbrough, he’s done it now at Sheffield Wednesday. Big football clubs and with his character, he is more than capable."

On the Owls' recent results: "The Championship brings up strange results, it tests you every week, it tests your resources, you see strange results sometimes because teams cant rotate, sometimes play the same players and I am sure that had a huge bearing on what happened to us at Brentford.

"Garry has beat Leeds 2-0 and lost at home heavily and I think his results have been up and down, but I think that’s what everyone talks about when they talk about the nature of the Championship – it’s a fair reflection of it."

On Wednesday's strengths: "They have got good players – Jacob Murphy who we had at West Brom last season, they have got Fernando Forestieri, they have got Adam Reach who is a proven Championship player, they have brought in Josh Windass.

"They have got lots of individuals that can swing games for them. But they’re a well organised team, a really robust Championship team, it hasn’t complicated things and it will be a tough game."

Who?

Sheffield Wednesday have plenty of history to their name since they were formed in 1867. The Owls have lifted the FA Cup three times but more recently they won the Football League Cup in 1991.

Early in the 1900s they were First Division champions four times, but they have been absent from the top flight for 20 years now.

When and where?

Kick-off is 7:45pm on Wednesday 12th February at Kenilworth Road.

Man in the middle?

Gavin Ward takes charge of his 25th game of the campaign this evening, having dished out 80 yellow cards and three red cards in his previous 24 outings.
