With just two weeks to go, there's been a change in personnel for the skydive in aid of Luton Foodbank.
You can help the Kerry and James by sponsoring them here: https://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/lutontownfc
With Jordan McCann no longer available to make the jump none other than West End singing star Kerry Ellis has stepped in to jump alongside her husband James Townsend from the Luton Town Academy.
Kerry is one of the entertainment industry's best known singing stars, having appeared in 'Wicked' and 'Les Miserable' and many other West End musicals. In 2017 she released an album entitled 'Golden Days' with Queen guitarist Brian May, and has appeared alongside the rock legend on stage when they toured together. In recent months, Kerry has appeared on stage as Gwendolen in 'The Importance of Being Earnest' as well as appearing in her own podcast, and preparing to appear in 'A Night at The Musicals' in June.
Despite her busy schedule, Kerry was eager to take to the skies with James when the opportunity arose.
"I've always wanted to do a parachute jump, so when James mentioned that there might be a chance to jump with him to raise money for Luton Foodbank, I just couldn't say no. I'm used to dealing with nerves when I appear on stage, but this will be on another level. I just hope that as many people as possible will sponsor us to help raise money for Luton Foodbank, who do such amazing work to support families in desperate times in their lives", she said.
James, who is the Youth Development Phase Lead at the Luton Town Academy is looking forwards to the experience.
"Of course it was disappointing when Jordan had to step aside, but jumping alongside Kerry will be a fantastic experience. We'd just like to thank everyone who has sponsored us so far, we're aiming to raise £1,000 if we can, so keep the donations coming", he said.
The skydive takes place on the 28th May at Hinton.
