“Mick’s a hero here with the fans and he’s a hero with the lads as well,” said Collins. “He comes in every day and he gets around the boys and we have a coffee and a chat. He’s just like one of the boys, so we’ve all got huge respect for him.
“As you could see out there today, we all played for him, ourselves and the fans, and credit to him and his staff for not changing much, because what we did have here was good and it was going well, so why change anything? He realised that and we’ve stuck to what we needed to do.
“As long as Mick and he staff have got the job, we’ll keep working hard and we’ll keep doing everything right and we won’t slip off. They won’t allow us to do that either. That’s the sort of respect they have.”
