Town interim manager Mick Harford and striker James Collins have been nominated for the Manager of the Month and Player of the Month awards for their performances in January in Sky Bet League One.

Harford oversaw four games in the league last month, in which the Town secured ten points, not only climbing to the top of the tree, but also moving six points clear.

The EFL said on big Mick's nomination: 'After Nathan Jones left for Stoke, Harford drove the Luton juggernaut to the top of League One. His genius was to tinker only mildly, gaining 10 points from four games, including fixtures against promotion rivals Sunderland, Peterborough and Portsmouth.'

Mick faces competition from Plymouth's Derek Adams, Charlton's Lee Bowyer and Scunthorpe's Stuart McCall for the award.

Collins has come in for a huge amount of praise across the board for his outstanding displays last month, banging in a hat-trick against Peterborough, bagging a vital brace in the 3-2 win over Portsmouth and grabbing the equaliser at Sunderland to finish January with six goals in five appearances.

That saw him become leader in the pack for the League One top scorers, a brace against Shrewsbury moving him up to 18 for the campaign.

The EFL said about the former Crawley Town striker: 'Unlucky not to have been nominated previously this season, the frontman left nothing to chance last month, leading the line superbly in Danny Hylton's absence and scoring six goals in five games as his side assumed leadership of the division.'

Jacob Brown of Barnsley, Andy Cook of Walsall and Ruben Lameiras of Plymouth have also been shortlisted.

The award winners will be revealed on Friday – good luck to both Mick and Collo!
