28 September 2018

Town will look to make it five consecutive Sky Bet League One home games unbeaten tomorrow when they welcome Charlton Athletic to Kenilworth Road, which will see another Family Fun Day hosted by the Hatters.

Supporters from both clubs are invited to enjoy the activities the Town has on outside the front of the Kenilworth Road end prior to kick-off, click here for more information.

The Addicks have started well so far this season and have won all three of their third-tier games since manager Lee Bowyer was confirmed as permanent boss at the beginning of September, following a six-month stint as caretaker.

His side come to Kenilworth Road tomorrow though – a ground that has seen the visiting side take three points on only two occasions in the last 15.

It's that home form that has seen the Hatters retain their place in mid-table this campaign, with away performances not yet yielding the points return that they have deserved so far.

Charlton have been good away from the Valley though, winning two, drawing one and losing one of their four league games so far this season.

Supporters are reminded that contactless payment is available around the ground at food and beverage kiosks!

THE GAFFER SAYS:

On tomorrow's game: "A tough game against a good side, a very good side. The manager has done well there under difficult circumstances, fair play. They're a good side, a big club for this level.

"They've got good players and it will be a real good test of us, our structure and where we are because there are sides that are Premiership, or ex-Premiership sides at this level, and they're one of them. it'll be a tough test, but a great test for us."

On facing another side that's on a good run of form: "We run into a lot of form teams. It depends on who you play and what run of games certain people have had. Without being disrespectful, some people get those. We've come up against all the sort of top eight or ten, so it's been difficult for us to put runs of wins together, but you've got to play every team and it's that sort of run for us at the minute.

"They're a good side, but we're a good side, so let's not be – we're not fearing anyone. If they come here and are better than us in every department then so be it, but we're relishing this challenge and looking forward to it."

On Charlton's strike force: "They've got some potency there, Lyle Taylor and Karlan Grant are a real potent strike force at this level and we will have to be at our best.

"But, we're in good form at the minute, two back-to-back clean sheets, so we can't go into it in any better defensive form, so we will see. It's a wonderful game, full house. Charlton is a wonderful club, I have actually worked for them, so I know what a fantastic club it is, but I also know what a fantastic club we are."
