New loan signing Jorge Grant says the Hatters’ travelling support at Notts County on the final day of last season impressed him immensely – and played a part in him joining the Town on a season-long loan.

Asked about last season, when the Nottingham Forest man netted 19 times for the Magpies as they battled against the Hatters at the top of Sky Bet League Two, he said: “On a personal level and as a team, I felt we did really well last year and obviously there were some good games against Luton, especially on the last day, it was a great occasion.

“It was really difficult to play against, because you’ve got your home crowd which was probably about 6,000 anyway, and then on top of that there’s 4,500 away fans, and it was really difficult. They were really noisy and really good, and they pushed the team on.

“I think that’s one of the most important things in football, the fans. They drive the team on.”
