The Hatters will look to open up a ten-point gap between themselves and fourth tomorrow when they welcome Mansfield Town to Kenilworth Road.
Nathan Jones' team will be hoping to bounce back from Saturday's defeat at Colchester, which was marred by the serious injury sustained by Luke Berry.
Results elsewhere favoured the Hatters on the day though, with the Town's cushion between themselves and the play-off places only reduced by a point to seven.
A win could lift the Town back to the top of the table, depending on how Accrington get on against Notts County.
Tomorrow's visitors to the Kenny are without a win in five games under new boss David Flitcroft, who took over after the departure of Steve Evans – the Scotsman leaving for League One Peterborough United.
THE GAFFER SAYS:
On why Alan McCormack missed out on being in the squad against Colchester: "It's a big thing as Macca won't do two games in four days. So we had to choose which one that would get the most out of him – we chose Monday, whether that's the right one [decision] or not, we have to wait and see.
"He's been far more productive at home than he is away, and we knew if he did a 90-minutes today [Friday] then we'd have to write him off for Monday and we decided not to do that. That's not what cost us the game today though, not marking at set-plays cost us the game today."
On his side's performance after Luke Berry was injured: "With the injury, we thought, right we'll regroup and do certain things, and for about a 20 minutes period it was déjà vu from last year. It's exactly the same, we were 2-0 down after about 20 minutes last year from pretty much nothing.
"We worked on stuff so we didn't do that this year and it wasn't to be. It's another away game, we've had to give ourselves a massive game to chase and we can't keep doing that as we're a good side, but we're not that good that we can keep coming from two down."
WHO?
The Stags had been one of the more consistent sides in the division this campaign and have lost the joint least amount of games in the fourth tier, but draws have held them back so far. They've had 15 of them this campaign, but have done extremely well on the road at teams in the top eight, picking up victories over Wycombe Wanderers, Exeter City and Coventry City.
Recent results haven't favoured Flitcroft though, who has seen his team draw three times and lose twice in his short reign so far – results which have seen them fall out of the play-off places.
