We are excited to announce details of our forthcoming Christmas dinner.
The prestigious event, one of the highlights of the Luton Town Football Club social calendar, will be held at the Venue 360 Riverside Suite in Luton on the evening of Thursday 7th December - sponsored by A Plan Insurance.
And this year's dinner is set to be a real knockout, with two heavyweights from the world of football confirmed to appear.
Our guest speaker this year is none other than former Hatters midfielder Bruce Rioch. Bruce made 149 appearances for the Town in his five years at Kenilworth Road, scoring some 47 goals along the way. He will be familiar to many Hatters supporters as a key member of the squad that helped the club to promotion during the 1967-68 season.
After leaving the Hatters, he joined Aston Villa and subsequently enjoyed a long playing career, including stints at Derby County, Everton, the Seattle Sounders and Torquay United.
Rioch then turned his hand to management, with spells at Middlesbrough, Millwall, Bolton, Arsenal, QPR, Norwich and Wigan and Torquay - as well as overseas with Odense Boldklub, Aalborg FC and Seattle Storm.
Bruce will be joining us to recount some of his fascinating memories of his time as a player with Luton Town and elsewhere, as well as his managerial career.
We are also excited to announce that long-standing BBC commentator John Motson will be joining us as the master of ceremonies. Motson recently announced that he will be putting the microphone down at the end of this season, drawing an illustrious career to a close after 50 years. During that time he has become a household name in the UK and further afield, with his distinctive voice (and trademark sheepskin coats!) instantly recognised by football fans from every club.
John will be on hand to help move things along smoothly on the night, as well as sharing some of his memories and tales from a life in football.
As usual, guests will be treated to a delicious three course meal, including welcome drinks as well as an evening packed full of festive fun and laughter in the company of current Luton Town management team, players and staff.
