Teenage striker Aaron Jarvis makes his first start in a Luton Town shirt as the Hatters play host to fellow Sky Bet League Two club Barnet in the Checkatrade Trophy at Kenilworth Road tonight.

Town boss Nathan Jones has named the August signing from Basingstoke Town in his starting XI for the Southern Group F game after handing him a debut as a late substitute in last week’s league game at Morecambe.

There is also a first appearance of the campaign for midfielder Lawson D’Ath, who suffered an ankle injury two days before the opening game against Yeovil.

Johnny Mullins captains a Town side in which England Under-20 full-back James Justin gets his second start of the campaign in a back four that also features Akin Famewo and Jack Senior, with goalkeeper James Shea behind them.

Midfielders Pelly-Ruddock Mpanzu and Luke Berry get a run-out after missing recent league games through suspension, with Jordan Cook and D’Ath alongside them in the midfield behind Jarvis and Elliot Lee.
