The Hatters have been out in force bringing cheer to poorly children in local hospitals this week – and today it was the Luton & Dunstable’s turn to get a visit from the table-topping Town lads!

After half the squad went to Bedford Hospital yesterday, this afternoon it was the rest of Nathan Jones’ lads time to go to the L&D and hand out LTFC scarves, money boxes and teddies.

Alan Sheehan is one of several Town players who have children, and the Irish defender is about to spend his first Christmas with as a dad with seven-week-old daughter Willow.

The 31-year-old told lutontown.co.uk: “It’s always good to go out on these visits to try to brighten up Christmas for some of the children who might be spending this time of the year in hospital.

“I’ve only just become a dad so I’ve looked at it from a different perspective this year. Some of these babies are really sick and your heart melts for them.

“It makes you grateful for your own kids’ health and if we can bring a bit of cheer to their time in hospital, however small, we are glad to play our part.”
