In today’s matchday programme ‘This Is Our Town’ you will find the official team photo for 2017-18 on the centre-spread!

Nathan Jones, his staff and his players gathered at Kenilworth Road last week for club photographer Gareth Owen to capture them looking their best for the campaign ahead.

These are your Luton boys and you can read all their profiles and see their individual pictures in ‘This Is Our Town’ costing £3.

Nathan is certainly pleased with the group, telling the local media at his press conference on Thursday: “We are always looking to improve the squad but in terms of numbers, if the window shut tomorrow we’d be happy, no problem whatsoever.

"Our recruitment is near-enough done. We might have to react to something but we don’t envisage there being masses of business being done, but if something becomes available that enables us to improve significantly, then it’ll interest us.”

Asked whether he’s gone for two players for each position, he replied: “That’s what we’ve tried to do, apart from centre-half where we’ve actually got six.

“We’ve got three permanent goalkeepers now, full-backs it’s two for two, and in terms of all other places there’s a minimum of two for one place.

“We’ve four very good strikers backed up by Jordan Cook, so it’s a strong squad and we have to make sure that we utilise it and we get them playing to the best of their ability.”

On his hopes for the season, the gaffer had this message: “We were a hard luck story last season. We lost the least amount of games, we had the second-best defensive record, we were very high in the scoring charts.

“We played lovely football, we developed footballers, we moved the club forward – but we didn’t get promoted so there are no excises this season.

“We can’t have that naivety about us. We can’t allow teams to nick draws and to cost us our ultimate goal. That’s why I’ve brought in the experience that I’ve brought in.

“That’s why we are constantly looking to improve it so no-one thinks they’re in the comfort zone. There’s no comfort zones at Luton Town.

“We are looking to move forward and take the step that we couldn’t quite do last year. That’s our goal.”
