Craig Mackail-Smith makes his first start since breaking his leg
Hatters boss Nathan Jones has named Craig Mackail-Smith in his starting line-up for the first time since the striker broke his leg at Plymouth last March.
The 32-year-old came on as a 70th-minute substitute in the FA Cup win at Exeter on Saturday, but will start in the Checkatrade Trophy game against Millwall at Kenilworth Road tonight.
The winners of tonight’s match will progress to the knockout stages as group winners – with a penalty shoot-out to decide it if the scores are level after 90 minutes – and Jones has selected a more experienced team than in previous games against Gillingham and West Brom.
Jonathan Smith will captain the side, with Stephen O’Donnell at right-back, Jake Gray and Josh McQuoid in midfield and Isaac Vassell partnering Mackail-Smith in attack.
Town starting line-up: King, O’Donnell, Musonda, Famewo, Senior, Bakinson, Gray, Smith, McQuoid, Mackail-Smith, Vassell.
Subs: Gooch, Bean, Cotter, Snelus, Banton, Hinds, Read.
