The Hatters help tidy up the as part of #openyoureyes initiative.
Over 150 volunteers turned out over the weekend to kick-start the Love Luton #openyoureyes campaign.Love Luton were joined joined by representatives from Luton Town FC and other local organisations who took to the streets to pick up litter and show some love to the town centre . Following on from its successful beginning on Friday and Saturday, the campaign is now set to continue. As well as helping to provide cleaner streets, the objective of the campaign is to encourage residents to take pride in their town and play a more active role in keeping their local environment clean and tidy.
Marcomms manager Ed Smith and Supporter Liaison Officer John Miller went along to lend a hand on Friday, collecting rubbish around Church St, Power Court and John Street. "It was terrific to be involved in the first litter pick for #openyour eyes." said John. "It's encouraging to see so many volunteers turn out over the weekend and hopefully more and ore people will get involved as the campaign continues. It'd be great to see more Hatters supporters coming forward to get involved in what is a great community initiative. It only takes a couple of hours per session, and it helps to show Luton in a positive light as well as delivering cleaner streets", he added.
