Hatters boss gives his verdict on Saddlers clash
Hatters boss Nathan Jones was disappointed to see his team lose 1-0 to Walsall today, but the Town chief could see the positives of the performance against the League One club.
“A lot of positives came out of it, especially first half,” Jones told lutontown.co.uk. “I thought we dominated the game and probably should have gone in ahead.
“We weren’t clinical in the final third but I thought our approach play, our structure, how we worked, how we grafted, I thought we were excellent.
“The goal was a poor one to give away, and then it took the sting out of the game. I was a little bit disappointed with how reacted to going a goal behind.
“But on the whole it’s another fantastic fitness exercise, we wanted to test ourselves and we have, and I don’t think we came out second best in any real department to Walsall, who are a League One side.
“We are in decent shape with no injuries, so overall it’s pleasing. I’m just disappointed with the goal and how we reacted after that.”
