Hatters striker believes Seagulls are ideal preparation for Villa

Hatters striker Josh McQuoid says he is looking forward to facing Brighton & Hove Albion tomorrow – and believes it will be good preparation for facing the Seagulls’ Championship rivals Aston Villa in the EFL Cup next month.

Speaking after Tuesday night’s game at Boreham Wood, the 26-year-old former Bournemouth man said: “Obviously the gaffer has been there and knows what they are about, they are a good side.

“We are going to face some good sides this season. We’ve got Aston Villa in the cup, and that’s going to be a good test for us.

“This one will help us see where we are. Footballing wise it will be a good test for us, as they are a good side, so we’re looking forward to it.”

Tomorrow's opening pre-season friendly against Nathan Jones' old club kicks off at 2pm tomorrow.
