Saturday team news from the boss

The Town will wait on the fitness of Mark Tyler and Ryan Hall ahead of Saturday’s game with Notts County – but will definitely be without Danny Green and Josh McQuoid.

Hatters boss Nathan Jones explained at his Thursday press conference that Tyler and Hall have taken part in training this week having missed last Saturday’s win at Mansfield.

The pair, along with Green, were both forced off in Jones’s first game in charge at Cambridge two weeks ago.

However, Green’s ankle injury will take longer to heal and Jones admitted he the winger won’t be in contention for a place in the squad to face Notts.

The same can be said of McQuoid who this week had an operation on a knee problem.

“It’s a shame because Josh is a good player and somebody I want to work with,” said Jones. “I’ve played against him before in my career and know what he’s capable of and it’s a shame we found this problem.”
