Boss expecting another tough game as Notts visit

Manager Nathan Jones wants his players to start enjoying playing at Kenilworth Road again as the Town prepare to face Notts County on home soil on Saturday.

The Hatters have won just three of their 13 League 2 matches at home this season but take on a County side with only two wins on the road to their name so far.

But after last weekend’s 2-0 win at Mansfield, Jones is looking forward to his second home game in charge.

“It’ll be another very, very tough League 2 game,” said the boss. “Right the way through the leagues there’s such a competitive edge, all the teams are closely matched and games can go either way.

“We’ve prepared for a really stern test, that’s what we’re expecting. But we’re looking forward to it.

“We want the players to enjoy playing at home. We want the fans to turn out and see what we’re doing. We want them to be proud of the team.

“We saw little bits of the base being built in the last two matches, and hopefully we can cement a few more blocks starting this weekend.

“Notts have got a good squad but we’ll be concentrating on us. We know what they’ll bring but we’ll be trying to be Luton Town.”
