Hatters beat the Us in Bedford

Luton Town's development XI beat a Cambridge XI by a goal to nil in Bedford this afternoon.

The first half was a largely uneventful affair with both sides cancelling the other out.

The Hatters were awarded a penalty on 31 minutes after Frankie Musonda was tripped in the area, but Isaac Galliford's shot was saved by the Cambridge keeper Kettings.

Scott Griffths and Nathan Doyle had both started for the Hatters at the Eyrie. Griffiths made way for Jack Snelus just after the break, and Kavan Cotter replaced Doyle after 58 minutes.

And it was to be substitute Jack Snelus who would make the difference when he tucked home the rebound from a Freddie Hinds shot which had rebounded off the post on 75 minutes.

The town made two further changes, with Isaac Galliford coming off for George Murray and Kyran McGhan-George replacing Freddie Hinds.

Despite some late pressure from the Town, the score remained 1 - 0, with the Hatters taking all three points.

Luton Town will be returning to the Eyrie on 16th July, to play a pre-season friendly against Bedford Town. This match coincides with the Bedford River Festival, so plan ahead and make sure you catch the Hatters as part of the celebrations.
