Oxford start gives Lawless his 200th appearance.

Alex Lawless started for the Hatters on Saturday with what was his 200 appearance for the Town.

The 31 year old midfielder originally joined Luton on loan from York during the 2010-11 season, signing a permanent contract in January 2011. His first goal in Town colours came in a 1-0 win over Altrincham in 2010, and since then he has gone on to score 22 goals in his 200 appearances - becoming a firm favourite with the Hatters faithful in the process.

Speaking after Saturday's match with Oxford the Hatters number 7 said "I thought it's come eventually, and when the time comes I'd just enjoy it. I was confident it would come, and it's been great to top it off with a win against Oxford away."

The result made it Lawless' 101st win out of 200 - but the player played down the 50% win rate "It might sound good, but to be honest I'd like it to be more. Hopefully I can get that average up a bit more."

Nathan Jones also praised Lawless for his 200th appearance saying "he's not been involved all that much this season, but that's no reflection on the hard work he puts in. He trains hard, and has a great attitude. We'll be taking a look at things over the summer with Alex, but the fact that he's Welsh won't do him any harm!"

Alex has scores some classics during his time at Kenilworth Road so far - here's a scorcher from a couple of seasons ago against Nuneaton. Well done Alex!
