Town miss the chance to make it two wins from two
Defenders Dan Potts and Magnus Okuonghae completed 90 minutes for the development squad in their 1-0 defeat at Leyton Orient on Tuesday afternoon.
Potts has been on the sidelines with a hamstring injury while centre-half Okuonghae has been continuing his steady comeback from an Achilles injury.
Alex Lawless, Mark O’Brien, Pelly Ruddock Mpanzu, Jack Marriott and Zane Banton also played the whole game.
After scoring seven without reply against Gillingham in their opening match of the Final Third Development League campaign last week, the Town were guilty of not taking a host of chances and Orient secured victory thanks to a first-half goal from striker Ollie Palmer.
Development and academy manager Andy Awford told lutontown.co.uk: “Although we lost the game there were a lot of positives to take, especially the amount of minutes some of our players got under their belts.
“The only negative would be that we couldn’t convert the many chances we created. Against Gillingham we did that, but this week we didn’t.
“Overall it was a good exercise, we controlled the game for long periods, worked their goalkeeper but could not find a way through.
“You always want to win but sometimes you have to look at the bigger picture and 90 minutes for the likes of Dan, Magnus and Alex are a bonus.
“Winning isn’t the only thing that matters in these types of games.”
