Town striker fit for Red Devils return

Hatters boss John Still says striker Craig Mackail-Smith is fit to return to the side to face Crawley on Saturday.

The Scotland international came off at half-time in last weekend's 1-1 draw with York having felt a hamstring twinge.

But the 31-year-old has trained this week and is expected to lead the line against the Red Devils and the Broadfield Stadium.

Left-back Scott Griffiths is in contention for a return having been rested by the manager last week. The defender has recently become a father and Still decided to leave the former Dagenham man out of last weekend's game and opted for Dan Potts.

Another man in contention for a starting place is midfielder Paddy McCourt who has been away on international duty with Northern Ireland. The Irish celebrated their qualification to this summer's European Championships, although McCourt was an unused substitute in both matches.

Finally, striker Paul Benson has returned to full training a week after having an injection to cure a neck injury. Still hopes the forward could be back in the squad after a full week's training next week.

Full interview with the manager coming up on Hatters Player.
