Ngwala and Allman on target as Shrimpers seen off

Goals from Daril Ngwala and Osamu Allman gave the Hatters' Under-18s a fine 2-0 win away to Southend United on Saturday.

In what boss Paul Driver described as a "tremendous" performance, the Town led at the break thanks to Ngwala's striker midway through the first half.

After the interval the Town youngsters continued to press and a superb move 15 minutes after the restart led to the second goal which was dinked home by Allman.

Driver told lutontown.co.uk: "It was an all round excellent performance, it was tremendous. Everything we asked of them the lads did. We had plenty of chances and it could have been more. After losing at home to Plymouth last week it was the perfect response."

Town: Gooch, Trotman, McJannett, McGhan-George, Musonda, Justin, Allman, Maguraushe (sub Atkinson 75), Galliford, Ngwala, Craig (sub Verney 75).

Subs not used: Bean, Brown.
