Midfielders expecting Hatters response after Morecambe set-back

Alex Lawless and Cameron McGeehan believe the Town can bounce back to winning ways when they make the trip to Portsmouth on Saturday.

One of the biggest crowds in League 2 history is expected at Fratton Park at the weekend, a number swelled by 2,700 Hatters fans.

And after the 3-2 defeat to Morecambe last weekend, both Town goalscorers in that game are confident of a return to form.

“This week has given us time to get the Morecambe disappointment out of minds,” said Lawless. “It has made us refocus.

“As players, the Portsmouth game is the one at the start of the season you would say you would want to be involved in.

“It’s something to look forward to. Hopefully we can put right when went wrong against Morecambe.”

McGeehan, who netted his first Luton goal since returning on-loan from Norwich, added: “Both clubs have got a big fan base and it’s sure to be a good atmosphere. We’re all looking forward to it.

“The key is to win. We’re at the business end of the season and we need to keep pushing. As a team we need to bounce back.

“Saturday’s a big game, we’ll go again and it’s important we bounce back.”

The Hatters sold out their allocation for the away end at Portsmouth over a week ago. No more tickets will be available and supporters without tickets are strongly advised not to travel.

Away and Third shirts available online and instore.
