Town youth team continue winning streak

The Town Under-18s made it three wins on the bounce in the Merit Division with a comfortable 2-0 win over Swindon on Saturday.

Paul Driver’s side raced into a two-goal lead inside 30 minutes thanks to goals from Geo Craig and Alex Atkinson.

Craig tucked home the opener on 20 minutes following Atkinson’s cut-back and 10 minutes later Atkinson looped home a cross-cum-shot which caught out the Robins’ keeper.

Half-chances came and went for both sides but the second half was dominated by the Hatters as they kept Swindon at bay.

A pleased Driver told “After we took the lead we were in control but in the second half we never really got going.

“It’s a good result to keep the run going but we’ve played much better than that season and come away nothing.”

Meanwhile, tonight the Hatters’ development squad take on AFC Wimbledon at Merstham FC (kick-off 7pm).

Town U18: King, Trotman (sub Cotter 60), McJannett, Musonda, McGhan-George, Justin, Allman (sub Allman 60), Magaraushe, Atkinson, Ngwala, Craig (sub Verney 65). Sub not used: Fanewo.
