Hatters to announce a new partner for 15/16

Luton Town Football Club can announce that the easyJet shirt sponsorship has now come to an end, and the Club will have a new partner for the 2015/16 season.

The Luton-based airline first began sponsoring the Hatters in 2009 following our relegation to the Conference. This season was easyJet’s sixth successive campaign as official shirt sponsors.

During that time the Town have carried the easyJet name on their shirts in two Play-Off finals, including once at Wembley, in the 1-0 win at Norwich City in the FA Cup and, of course, throughout the title-winning campaign in the Conference.

The Luton based airline have also supported the Club significantly in other areas, including our Community Trust for the past five years. They have helped 18,000 school children in Luton and Bedfordshire receive over 6,500 hours of free curriculum time football coaching and PE lessons.

Their support of the Trust – and other community activities – will continue, however, enabling more youngsters in the surrounding area to benefit from free coaching.

Hatters chief executive Gary Sweet told lutontown.co.uk: “Obviously we are saddened to have lost easyJet as our shirt sponsors but thank them enormously for their backing over the past six years.

“We have enjoyed an extremely healthy working relationship during this time and my particular thanks go to the easyJet team for their hard work and enthusiastic support of the Club over the last few years.

“The partnership has helped both ourselves and easyJet in a number of ways and we are delighted that they will continue to assist the local community by continuing to back our own Community Trust.

“With their departure from the front of our shirts we will soon be able to reveal our new sponsors going forward.”

Neil Slaven, UK Commercial Manager at easyJet, said: “Whilst we will be shifting the emphasis of our partnership with Luton Town Football Club to focus on supporting its community programme for local school children within the region. The programme gives local school children the opportunity to train at the club, supporting the development of new talent at a grass roots level.

“As stakeholders in the local community easyJet and LTFC share many of the same goals and continue to enjoy an excellent working relationship. We are looking forward to a continued partnership as we work side by side in supporting the excellent work LTFC undertake with the local community.”

“easyJet is pleased to be retaining the use of its box at Kenilworth Road next season and we look forward to partnering with the club into the 2015/16 season and wish them every success as we follow their achievements.”
