Town secure signature of former Colchester captain
- Magnus Okuonghae, 29-year-old defender
- Centre-back pens a two-year contract
- Over 350 professional appearances
- Second time played under John Still
- Previously the captain of Colchester in League 1
The Hatters have further strengthened their defensive options with the signing of former Colchester United captain Magnus Okuonghae.
The 29-year-old, 6ft 2in centre-half has penned a two-year deal at Kenilworth Road after six seasons with the Essex club.
Magnus arrives with a wealth of experience with 366 games under his belt during a career which has also seen him play under Town boss John Still at Dagenham & Redbridge.
Still plucked the Nigerian from then-Conference club Crawley in 2007 and the defender went onto feature 63 times for the Daggers. After helping Dagenham to an eighth place finish in League 2 in 2008/09 he made the short hop to sign for Colchester.
During his time at the Weston Homes Community Stadium, Okuonghae played 196 games at League 1 level, scoring eight times.
Last season an Achilles injury ruled him out for a large part of the campaign, however, in the last three seasons, Magnus had only missed seven league games in that time.
Please give a warm welcome to Magnus!
