Pelly Ruddock Mpanzu returned to action this evening with a lively performance as Luton beat hosts Thurrock in an entertaining meeting at Ship Lane.

Ruddock looked sharp, showing promising drive during his 60 minute appearance. Jake Howells, who led the team out as skipper also impressed with a two-goal tally.

Things got off to a rocky start as the home side went ahead after 2 minutes but moments later, a Thurrock own-goal by Lewis Clark put the Hatters back on level terms.

On 17 minutes, Jake Howells confidently dispatched a penalty kick to give the Hatters a 2-1 lead.

As the first half continued, Thurrock had chances to equalise, with Carvell coming close on a couple of occasions.

For Luton, Calvin Zola also looked sharp and had chances of his own to add to the Hatters score before heading in 1-2 to the good at half time.

The second half began at a slower pace with some half chances for Tiryaki and Howells. Then, substitute Alex Atkinson fired a fine effort home off the post after replacing Ruddock Mpanzu just before the hour mark, making the score Thurrock 1 - 3 Luton. Moments later Isaac Galliford narrowly missed a chance to add another.

The Hatters didn't have to wait long for their 4th of the evening though, with Howells netting his second from a tight angle with 12 minutes left on the clock.

With 3 minutes remaining, Thurrock pulled a consolation goal back thanks to a Jordan Clark shot.

Final Score - Thurrock 2 - 4 Luton Town.
