Ball is in Johnson's court says the manager

Boss John Still says it is up to Andrew Johnson if the striker wants to join the Hatters.

Still confirmed at his press conference on Thursday that he has held discussions with the 33-year-old, Bedford-born forward.

But the decision on whether the former England international signs at Kenilworth Road or not lies firmly with the striker himself.

“Having spoken with Andrew today he’s still not 100 per cent sure what he wants to do – if he does play he’ll play here,” said Still.

“We don’t want to badger him, it’s up to him and when he’s ready to decide. I just think he wants to make sure he’s comfortable in playing.

“He has no [injury] problems. It’s just whether or not he wants to continue playing.

“We’ve left it with him; it’s when he’s ready to make his mind up – that’s where that is.”

The boss also confirmed he has held discussions with a number of potential transfer targets this week. You can watch more from the boss’ press conference later this afternoon on Hatters Player.
