Manager happy to be patient for striker's answer
John Still admitted the he could have an answer from Andrew Johnson next week on whether the striker wants to join the Hatters.
Still said at his Thursday press conference that discussions have taken place with the former England international’s agent this week.
But the Town boss is happy for 33-year-old Johnson to take his time on making the decision.
“It’s about wanting to play with an energy, a drive, an enthusiasm to help get this club promoted,” Still said.
“That’s whoever comes in. Andrew’s agent said he wasn’t sure that playing was what he wanted to do. That’s how we left it and that’s how I put it to his agent. As far as I’m concerned, when he’s ready, he’ll say to me, yes I do, or no I don’t.
“How I see it from the meeting with the agent, we might have an answer to these sorts of things next week.
“We’re really waiting for Andrew to come to us, because he’s the one who has to decide whether he wants to play.”
