Another great night on the cards in the Eric Morecambe lounge...
Let's face it. February is a pretty drab month. It's freezing cold, and the spring still feels a long way off. So if you're looking for something to do tonight, you'll be looking for somewhere warm, welcoming and funny to go to. Where better then, than Specs Comedy in the Eric Morecambe Lounge! There's a delicious varied menu on offer, and if you arrive before 7pm you can get a curry and a drink for just £8!
Tonight's lineup is a real humdinger, featuring...
Bob Mills - well known for his laddish irrelevant stand-up, Bob has established himself as one of the finest live acts in the country with a career stretching three decades. Rocketing on the London scene in 1985, Bob went on to bigger things hosting the ever popular ITV flagship daytime gameshow ‘Win Lose Or Draw’, and the brilliant ‘In bed With MeDinner’. As well as working for BBC1 in the past on documentaries interviewing household names like Eric Clapton, Phil Collins and Cher, Bob Mills has extended his talents into radio regularly covering for Danny Baker on BBC London.
Andrew Maxwell - A double Edinburgh comedy award nominee , star of ‘John Bishop’s Only Joking’ and host of the BBC Edinburgh Comedy Marathon, Andrew has rocked the biggest stages of them all. During his career, Andrew has performed at numerous sell out shows like the Edinburgh Festival Fringe and Glastonbury. Andrew has also appeared in the recent series of ‘Have I Got News For You’, and ITV’s ‘Celebrity Juice’. And if you were there for his show at Specs in November, you'll know you're in for a real treat.
Scott Bennett - This Yorkshireman has proven himself as one of fastest rising stars on the UK scene. His no nonsense logic and well delivered routines have pleased audiences time and time again. Scott performed at the prestigious Big Value show for just The Tonic at the Edinburgh Fringe in 2013, which reflects the confidence oozing through this very talented man.
And your compere for the evening is Howard Read who is probably best known for his work on ‘Big Howard, Little Howard’, one of the world’s first human cartoon double-act. Howard’s authenticity and the natural ability to make people laugh has earned him headline slots in many clubs across the UK, as well international gigs in New York, Iceland, Shanghai, Dubai and the French Alps. Howard has also written material for Ricky Gervais on the well-received TV series ‘Meet Ricky Gervais’.
