Drury misses out on monthly gong
Midfielder Andy Drury has been pipped by Tranmere Rovers striker Rory Donnelly in the Sky Bet League 2 Player of the Month award for January.
Donnelly, currently on loan at Prenton Park from Premier League Swansea, netted three times for Rovers last month.
Drury meanwhile has hit two goals in his last three games with strikes in the wins over Plymouth and Cambridge, to ensure he was in the running for the gong.
“Andy’s form’s been good this year, but I said to him over the last few weeks, 'what’s the one thing missing from your game? Goals'," manager John Still said at Thursday’s press call.
“You haven’t got to be Brain of Britain to see that. If he adds goals to his game, his performances would be faultless.
“It was the one thing that Luke Guttridge gave us that perhaps Dukes hasn’t given us, goals.
“He gave us performances but when you play in that loose position, you do have to find goals and I think he’s got goals in him.”
