Player's Charity of the year shortlisted to win in JustGiving campaign

Happy Days Children's Charity - the players' charity of the year have been shortlisted as one of just 12 Charities in the UK for JustGiving's 12 Days of Christmas Campaign.

The campaign is now open for a public vote - with the winning charity winning £1000 towards their own fundraising campaigns.

The Luton based charity were nominated for their 'Panto Appeal'. Every Christmas, Happy Days supports hundreds of vulnerable children, by giving them a really special day out to the theatre to see a traditional pantomime. They help a variety of groups from special needs schools to women's refuges, child bereavement services, young carers and children's hospitals and hospices.

It costs around £20 to send a child to the theatre for the ticket and transport. This year, they would love to help even more children experience the joy of Christmas by giving the gift of a magical performance and are hoping to raise £5,000 to give 250 brave kids a yuletide to remember.

On behalf of the players, Hatters midfielder Alex Lawless said "“Having chosen Happy Days as Luton Town Football Club’s Players Charity of the Year, we’re thrilled that they’ve also been chosen as a Christmas Campaign finalist by JustGiving. We’re urging local people to get online and cast their vote or donate to the campaign as Happy Days does some genuinely fantastic work supporting children with special needs in this area.”

Voting closes on the 14th December, so get your votes in now!
