Goals for three Town men out on loan

Strikers Ricky Miller, Zane Banton and Lee Angol were on target as 10 of the Town’s players out on loan were involved in weekend action.

Miller, together with midfielder Solomon Taiwo, helped Dover Athletic beat Alfreton in the Conference with Miller’s fine 38th-minute strike the distance as the Whites triumphed 1-0.

Banton, above, began Biggleswade Town’s comeback by scoring the Waders’ first goal in their 2-2 FA Cup second qualifying round draw against Dorking. Ian Rees also played for Biggleswade.

Angol continued his hot streak in front of goal with another double, as Boreham Wood saw off East Preston 3-2 at Meadow Park in the FA Cup.

Elsewhere, Danny Fitzsimons played 90 minutes in Bishop’s Stortford’s goalless draw with Tooting & Mitcham in the Cup.

Winger Dave Martin helped Bristol Rovers to record a fifth successive victory in the Pirates’ 1-0 win at Southport in the Conference Premier.

And back in the FA Cup, Mark Onyemah, Kynan Isaac and Charlie Smith were all on the losing side for Thurrock, Oxford City and Hitchin respectively.
